Do you use backdrops or studio lighting for portrait/family sessions?
No, WCP prefers to work with natural light and everyday surroundings. Being a creative portraiture option WCP likes to keep things natural and ‘real’ for a number of reasons;
- Children will generally respond better to an environment that they know and feel comfortable in;
- Adults are more relaxed when they are in place where they can simply interact with their children and partner.
- Working in different locations with varying surroundings allows WCP to create images that are more unique and full of personality!
If you are looking for a portrait session that utilises backdrops then WCP is likely not for you. If however, you would like images that capture the personality and many ’shades’ of family life then give Donna a call to find out more
Do you sell digital negatives (high resolution files) from your sessions?
Yes and No! Wedding clients may purchase their digital negatives within certain packages (at WCP’s discretion), but unfortunately family session digital negatives remain the property of WCP.
However, having said that let me now take a moment to discuss this a little – it is definitely the question I am asked most! Digital Negatives may seem like a great thing to have…the ability to print photos at cheap photo labs and create very affordable photo products is a tempting proposition to many. It is important to consider a few other things though;
- First and foremost, my prints are really quite affordable and within reach of most. Many WCP’s clients find they are able to print the number of photos they required for much less than it would’ve cost to purchase the image files alone.
- Secondly, by purchasing your images through WCP, Donna will take the time to guide you in which photos work best at various sizes/finishes reducing the disappointment that can occur through cheaper labs. It is also important to note here that the print lab used by WCP is a professional lab available only to professional photographers. The quality is excellent and as a result will always cost a little more than your local print kiosk.
- Donna recognises that printed, displayed photos are the most important advertisement for her business – it is therefore her priority to ensure that all work is printed to the same level of excellence that she demands from her lab.
Where digital negatives are sold (to wedding clients only), Donna will always make herself available to discuss printing styles/sizes/finishes with her clients to ensure a quality product is still achieved.
Do you sell printed canvases?
Absolutely! The canvas prints sold by WCP are of the highest quality. The canvas is stretched over a Meranti wood frame which won’t twist and warp like Pine and it is spray laminated twice to ensure your print will stand the test of time – fingermarks may also be wiped away. Other canvas printers don’t laminate their prints and the ink can fade or simply rub off. You won’t be disappointed with the quality and workmanship of a canvas printed through WCP.
What is the turnaround time on editing the images from our session?
WCP aims to have all photos edited within 10 working days from your session date. Occasionally it may take longer, but in most cases the time will be less. Every photo from your session is individually edited to achieve vibrant colours and re-touched to ensure everyone looks their best. On average Donna will spend anywhere between 5-25 minutes on each and every photo that is presented to you.
Weddings generally take a little longer, but 10 working days is what we aim for. Donna will always remain in touch and let you know when to expect your edited proofs (in your online password protected slide show).
For those that really can’t wait that long…just keep your eye on this very blog (http://www.wildcreativephoto.com.au/blog) as Donna will always attempt to have a sneak peek up within a day or two of your family/wedding photo session!
How long does it take to get our photos after we’ve ordered?
Again, the turnaround time is somewhere in the vicinity of 5-10 working days after payment has been received. If you are paying via direct deposit it can take up to 3 working days for payment to show up in our account after which your photos will be ordered (within 24 hours). If there is a delay in receiving your images, Donna will always give you a courtesy call to let you know the estimated delivery time.
How do we get our images once they’ve been ordered and paid for?
For mothers of young children, Donna can often deliver the photos right to your door. Often it is more convenient for us to deliver than it is for you to collect photos. But, in every case, Donna will call you to let you know your images have arrived and will work out the best way to get them to your either via phone or email.
Do you only take photos on weekends?
No, I can most certainly look at a mid-week session if that suits you best. Wednesdays and Thursdays are Donna’s preferred days, but depending on your needs other days may also be arranged.
