big kids…

March 28, 2009

So often families hire me to take photos of their little ones. Understandable really, but there’s this whole other period of a child’s life that sometimes goes unrecorded. That time between childhood and adulthood. I love photographing babies and toddlers, don’t get me wrong, but this age really is a lot of fun to capture through my lens. At this age, kids are full of life and personality and it translates beautifully when you get them at a location that they enjoy. I seriously enjoyed this session…the kids were amazing and Mum & Dad were so easy to work with. They stood behind me doing goodness knows what, to make their little kiddies laugh and smile. I think they had just as much fun as the kids!!

The photo below is one of my new all-time favourites. She looks so pretty and so thoughful. Would love to know what she’s thinking about?!

Thank you for being such great kids to work with! You earned your family dinner out and I bet Mum & Dad are enormously proud!!

The answer is quite obviously…two cute babies.

These girls are so different, yet so alike…double the trouble, but double the fun!!! I love the seriousness of this shot. Wide eyes and and pursed lips are a great ‘look’ on babies!

This last one is a little cryptic, but seeing as I love my butterflies and my reflection shots, I could hardly resist.

Thanks T for letting me gush over your adorable girls. Truth be told, my constant goo-ing and gaa-ing probably wore a little thin after a while. LOL. Thanks again.

warm & brave…

March 15, 2009

This was a last minute family session for a very deserving ‘mum’. This brave woman has made an enormous sacrifice to help raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave event happening all across the country. If you would like to donate money for this very worthy cause you can do so here. And, if you see this gorgeous chick around town sporting a very funky hat be sure to congratulate her on an enormous sacrifice and a huge achievement. I am so proud of you chicky!

I seriously couldn’t decide which version I liked best…the colour or the b&w so I’ve shared both. You decide! :)

cricket fan…

March 7, 2009

Being the mother of two totally girlie girls it makes a fabulous change hanging out with little guys like this one. When he started to get a little ‘over’ the whole thing, Mum brought out his cricket gear and we were good to go! He has some form too – you should’ve seen him work his little cricket bat. I’m guessing this boy is going to keep his parents plenty busy with games and training etc. etc. in the not-too-distant future!
