my other hobby…

December 29, 2008

I received a comment in a previous post regarding my other hobby…scrapbooking. Photography and scrapbooking really do go hand in hand and it was my love of paper-crafting that first drew me into the beautiful world of creative, candid photography.

To answer Mel’s question (thanks for you kind comment, by the way!), yes I do have another blog (http://donnawild.blogspot.com), but I tend to show most of my work through Aussie Scrapsource. AussieSS is one of Australia’s biggest and best scrapbooking wholesalers and I have been a member of their design team for a couple of years now. So checking the AussieSS blog will certainly keep you up-to-date with my scrapbooking creations as well as the work of our nation’s best scrapbookers. Seriously, the Aussie girls are amazing! Great photographers in their own right too. If you’re looking for some inspiration or something to do with the kids these holidays…give scrapbooking a try. You’ll love it.

Mel also mentioned my magazine work for Universal Magazines. For about 3 years I’ve contributed to Scrapbook Creations magazine and have had a regular photography feature. Some of my local clients have featured in these articles so you may see some familiar faces. ;) However, due to the growth of my photography business I recently resigned from the Universal team & next month will be my last issue. I will continue to create for Aussie Scrap Source however.

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. And from Wild Creative Photography, ME & my family…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I would like to take a brief moment to wish all of ‘you’ a VERY Merry Christmas! This year has been a fantastic year for me and WCP & I am grateful to all of you for helping to make that happen. Capturing your wedding days and family memories is such a priveledge and one that I don’t take lightly. THANK YOU for trusting me with your treasured memories.

I would also like to advise any current or prospective clients that I will be unavailable from Dec 21st till Jan 19th with the exception of any previously planned meetings/appointments. If you would like to make an order or purchase a gift voucher for Christmas, while I’ll still be around the place, I won’t be able to offer my usual ‘drop-off’ service – you’ll have to come to me to collect your orders I’m afraid. The final cut-off for print orders is Tues 16th December. Please don’t submit your orders after this date.

If you would like to make a time to talk to me re: a wedding or family shoot (during my holiday closure), please hold off until after Jan 19th or send me an email & I’ll get back to you when I can.

I intend to use this much needed break to enjoy some quality time with my two beautiful girls & husband. Who knows, I may even take a family snap or two! lol.

Have a joyous Christmas and fabulous New Year!

It was an enormous privelege to photograph this amazing wedding in McLaren Vale, SA. The entire day was a perfect balance of fun & romance with the most beautiful details thrown in. The flowers were the handywork of one talented bridesmaid and the cake was hand crafted by the bride’s mother.

Congratulations Sarah & Cameron! I wish you every conceivable happiness in your new lives together.

the whole family was blessed with exceptional good ‘looks’. I’m not kidding. Just look at these kids…

And…to their equally good looking Mum:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I hope you were totally spoilt.
